Archived Ramblings
August 18, 2002 Hail, Another quick update. Some people have been able to get the "Is It College Yet?" DVD, and it looks like MTV used the cut version of the movie instead of the full version. I'm going to give this a bit before I update the merchandise section with the information, but if it turns out to be true I'm not going to be buying the DVD. This is pretty much what I worred about after reading about the edits on The N. Right now, if we got the series on DVD we'd probably getting the cut version, and I will not encourage that by giving them money for a cut movie. Wraith June 22, 2002 Hail, A quick update about Daria on Noggin. Many people have reported seeing the promos on the channel, and now there is more information available on their site. For some odd reason they seem to be starting things off with "Is It Fall Yet?" rather than first season, so I can't say this is completely good news... Wraith May 30, 2002 Hail, It's been a while since I've done a Rambling, but there hasn't been much going on. I've finally got some news, so here were are again. For starters, SSW may be moving to yet another server soon. I'm not quite sure yet when or where, and it shouldn't effect the site any, but I thought I'd mention it. More importantly, Daria is going to be entering reruns. Not, of course,
on MTV. We all know how they feel about reruns. Daria has apparently
been syndicated, and is supposed to start showing on Noggin
this summer. No word yet on actual schedule or start date. "Is It College Yet?" is also going to be released on DVD this year. Current schedule puts it for early fall, but all things considered I wouldn't put too much stock in the release date just yet. As things move we should get more information, and I really hope they do a better job on this one than they did on "Is It Fall Yet?". Preliminary information indicates that there will, as with "Is It Fall Yet?", be some episodes on the DVD as well as the movie, but so far we don't know which episodes. Still no real word on getting the rest of Daria out on DVD. Sales of "Is It Fall Yet?" were high enough to get us "Is It College Yet?", and I suspect sales of that will be the main determining factor. Make sure to get yourself a copy (hey, if you're reading this, you must be interested in the show, right?). A quick reminder to the anime fans out there. Excel Saga and FLCL are both almost out in the US. The genre of off-the-wall comedy may never recover, and even if it does ADV will be follow up with Puni Puni Poemi. Wraith |
