Contest Ratings

1 Originality
Please, someone tell me how many times that this tired old story has been told. It started in Dated, then Daria and Trent went to a dance together in Carpe Diem, and the same story has been repeated over and over and over in at least 10 fics. If anything inadvertently comes out of the new season, I hope it's new fanfic plots. It could have made 5 points if Daria went with ANYONE else except Trent! The one point awarded is due to the fact that no mention was made of Jane and Jesse. I guess every cloud does have a smoky grey lining.

20 "Trueness" to the show
The piece, while a repetition of at least 10 other fics, was remarkably true to the show. Lots of sarcasm. Lines that Daria would actually say. Retardedness of Quinn and co. Sandi being a bitch. This one was actually right on.

horizontal rule

0 Fits the title
They made up their own title. Which defeats the purpose of writing for the title intended.

6 Spelling, grammer, punctuation
Atrocious grammar errors. I absolutely abhor the "your-you're" swap, and that one was in it frequently. There were also several errors that could have been caught running this thing through a spell-checker. Most people wouldn't have spanked this one as heavily for grammar, but that's one of my pet peeves.

horizontal rule

5 Humour
It was VERY, VERY, VERY hard to find humor in this since I found it hard to become interested in a story that I've read so many times before. I'm giving 5 points to be merciful, which perhaps I shouldn't be.

horizontal rule

1 Over-all impression
Unoriginal, gramatically incorrect, unfunny. There's not much I can say for this story, since I've already given the authors who originally wrote this genre my praise.
