The idea is nothing new...class reunion?
Only been done about 4 times. But the whole bleakness
of the situation was sort of telling the story as Daria
would have liked it. It was refreshing to see a story
that didn't marry off Daria and Trent, Jane and Jesse,
and Jodie and Mack. I also really enjoyed the presentation
of Mack in the story. |

"Trueness" to the show |
|
As I said, the story was written as if
Daria would have written it. However, there was
a lack of trueness in the presentation of certain characters...
I was slightly irked by Jane. And what was up with the
substitute swearing? 'Flipping dang' is not something
I could envision someone saying seriously. All the characters
swear lightly, like damns and hells. There was none
of that...only those chafing fake curse words. Also,
what was up with Andrea? It always occurred to me that
Jane didn't like her. |

Fits the title |
|
The only justification for this section
was the use of the subtitle. I doubt this story was
written for the contest...it was simply submitted for
a chance to win. |

Spelling, grammer, punctuation |
|
Obviously spellchecked but not proofread.
I am terribly picky about this sort of thing. There
were errors that spellcheckers would miss, and the constant
misspelling of "espresso" as "expresso" was bothersome.
Get it right! Other than that, there were very few obvious
grammatical errors. |

Humour |
|
Not uproariously funny, but enjoyable.
I especially enjoyed the fight between Kevin and Brittany,
and Mack's anger towards the other students. Quinn was
also quite funny. However, this tended to drag a little...but
then, the actual show can do that sometimes! |

Over-all impression |
|
Well written with nice plot development.
Disorganized in places...but I'm not a big fan of flashbacks.
I'd like to see more from this author. More points would
have been there if it had been true to the title and
hadn't had those fake swears! Those REALLY got under
my skin! |
