The Daria Annotation File:
Sappy Anniversary

The flower delivery service at the beginning is named "Petal to the Metal."

Quinn flips to the date May 12th on the calendar. Taking that as the date of the anniversary agrees with the timeline set by "Fizz Ed", but places their first date in November, which doesn't agree with "Is It Fall Yet?"

The name of the dot com Jake gets a job at is Buzzdome.com, which is probably a play on the buzzword-laden speech everyone there seems to spout.

When Jake and the CEO order Kambuja, they never fill their glasses before drinking.

Kambjua doesn't seem to be a drink of any sort, but is rather the modern name for Cambodia. A macrobiotic place may well use this as a name for some custom blend.

Jane's favorite song is the theme to "The Poseidon Adventure."
It was written by John Williams, and titled "The Morning After."

There's got to be a morning after
If we can hold on through the night
We have a chance to find the sunshine
Let's keep on looking for the light

Oh can't you see the morning after
It's waiting right outside the storm
Why don't we cross the bridge together
And find a place that's safe and warm

It's not too late, we should be giving
Only with love can we climb
It's not too late, not while we're living
Let's put our hands out in time

There's got to be a morning after
We're moving closer to the shore
I know we'll be there by tomorrow
Then we'll escape the darkness
We won't be searching anymore.

The non-anniversary is an obvious play on Lewis Carroll's unbirthday scenes in the Alice stories.
