Why do you want to spend this summer at Stanton College's Summer
High School Gifted and Talented Program?
Rather than relax and enjoy the sun like a normal kid whose father
DOESN'T think he's raising the next Barbara Jordan, I'm looking
forward to taking advantage of the summer months to further my education
at a college with a rigorous academic program, a distinguished faculty
and a diverse student body but I thought I'd apply to Stanton anyway.
Stanton is renowned for having been a decent school, oh, 200 years
ago educating three signers of the Declaration of Independence,
and it continues to attract the best and the brightest this nation
has to offer if you don't count all the students who go to better
schools. It is for these reasons I just pray I get into one
of my first choices I hope to spend my summer at Staton.
Your college also has all the amenities I could ask for: first-rate
bus service to get the hell off campus resources, proximity
to a cultural metropolis for getting the hell off campus cultural
activities, and the chance to interact with professors who are experts
in their fields by asking them for a ride off campus. No wonder
Stanton gets thousands of applications from slackers scholars
all over the country.
I've pored over your course catalog, and I think the biggest problem
I will have, should I be accepted, is in finding classes that I
didn't already take in sixth grade deciding which classes to take
- there are so many that look interesting. I would also hope to take
advantage of the many extracurricular activities and internship programs
you offer, particularly the ones that will allow me to get the
hell off campus.
Thank you for the opportunity to apply to Stanton's Summer High School
Gifted and Talented Program. I hope that, if accepted, my work will
bring distinction to the school or at least some letters of recommendation
for college so I can get my father off my back. God I love being a
role model.
